Hunter Guide
The System doesn't hide its rules. Read them. Enter a dungeon. Begin.
1. How to Awaken
First contact with the System is brief. You sign in. The System greets you as a hunter. You accept the gate, declare a name, and choose a Path — Body, Mind, Emotion, Energy, or Spirit. A hunter ID is written and your Portal Registry unlocks.
From there, your Portal Registry stands open — twelve dungeons, with a daily-floor starter unlocked by your chosen Path. Pick one you'd fight even without a scoreboard. The scoreboard is only there to remind you that you did.
2. The Five Rule Types
Every dungeon runs on one of five rule types. Read this once and the rest of the System collapses into something simple.
Continuous Streak
NoFap · Caffeine Reboot · Diet Challenge
A daily check-in. Confirm each day as cleared or relapsed in the calendar. Cleared days bank XP + dimensions permanently.
Cadence
Training Regimen · Daily Forge · Daily Sharpening · Daily Bonds · Daily Spark · Daily Stillness
A checklist pattern. Tick boxes within a window — daily for the Hunter-Type starters (clear any one), weekly for Training Regimen (5 of 5).
Timed Run
No Doomscroll · Sound Sensitization
A daily check-in toward an N-day target. Same calendar mechanic as the streak dungeons. Claim Victory at the target to retire the run.
Progressive Ladder
Exposure Therapy
An escalating ladder. Clear a rung to unlock the next. No skipping.
3. The Portals
Each portal is a specific discipline with specific rules and specific dimensions it trains. Most are open to every hunter; the five Daily-floor starters are gated by your chosen Path.
Caffeine Reboot
Continuous StreakReset the nervous system. Up to 2 coffees per month is fine — the 3rd ends the run.
Diet Challenge
Continuous StreakEat with awareness. 2–3 meals a day, no snacking between. Plant-first, animal-source second, seafood after that, meat only if nothing else. Up to 4 unnatural sweets per month — beyond that is a relapse.
Training Regimen
CadenceForge the body. 5 workouts per week — one per muscle group: Chest & Shoulders, Back & Arms, Legs & Glutes, Core, and Full Body. Discipline is cadence, not intensity.
No Doomscroll
Timed Run30 days without doom scrolling. Messaging, posting, and intentional single-video views are fine — only passive infinite feeds count as a slip.
Sound Sensitization
Timed Run30 days without music. A sensory reset — let the ears grow quiet so wind, rain, birdsong, and real voices start to feel alive again.
Exposure Therapy
Progressive LadderClimb the social ladder. Six rungs from silent presence to speaking up in groups — desensitize through graded exposure, one rung at a time.
NoFap
Continuous StreakReclaim your vital energy. Strict: no porn, masturbation, edging, or gooning. Sex and orgasm with a partner are fine — the rule targets compulsive solo use, not intimacy.
Daily Forge
CadenceThe Body Hunter's daily floor. Three reps that ramp with your rank — clear any one to bank the day. Pushups, pullups, squats grow as your streak climbs E → S.
Daily Sharpening
CadenceThe Mind Hunter's daily floor. A few pages, a new idea, a single honest sentence. Clear any one to bank the day.
Daily Bonds
CadenceThe Emotion Hunter's daily floor. Small reps of being seen, heard, present. Clear any one to bank the day.
Daily Spark
CadenceThe Energy Hunter's daily floor. Cold, motion, breath — three small jolts to wake the nervous system. Clear any one to bank the day.
Daily Stillness
CadenceThe Spirit Hunter's daily floor. A breath of silence, a sentence of thanks, one craving denied. Clear any one to bank the day.
4. Hunter Ranks
Six ranks. Each holds 10 levels. Sixty levels total to Shadow Monarch. XP required per level follows a 1.5-power curve — the higher you climb, the slower each level arrives.

XP drops from four places:
- ▸+10 each time you check in a cleared day on a streak/timed dungeon — plus that dungeon's dimension points
- ▸+25 per workout logged in Training Regimen
- ▸+20 per exposure logged in Exposure Therapy
- ▸+500 when you claim Victory on a timed dungeon
5. The Five Dimensions
Progress is tracked across five dimensions, not one flat XP bar. Each dungeon trains a specific subset. Your profile shows a radar chart — balanced hunters see a pentagon; specialized hunters see a spike.
Physical strength and vitality. Earned from workouts and dietary discipline.
Clarity, focus, attention. Earned from reclaiming your attention and senses.
Social courage and emotional regulation. Earned from exposure and reclaimed intimacy.
Raw vitality and stamina. Earned from stimulant control, diet, and compulsion resistance.
Depth, presence, inner silence. Earned from sensory reset and sustained discipline.
6. Daily Quests & the Combo System
Each day the System offers a rotating set of small quests — each tied to a dimension. Complete them to earn dimension points and XP.
Complete 3 or more quests in a single day and that day qualifies for your combo. Consecutive qualifying days build a combo streak. At each milestone, bonus XP lands as a toast on your Status Window:

A 1-quest or 2-quest day is a grace day — you won't build, but you won't break either. Only a full miss resets the combo.
Complete every quest in a single day and a Perfect Day celebration drops on top of the per-quest XP. Cadence dungeons (Training Regimen, the Daily-floor starters) drop a Full Clear bonus the same way — tick every workout in the window and the System rewards a flawless run.
7. The Scattered Debuff
Complete zero quests in a day, and tomorrow you wake up ⚠ Scattered — a visible mark on your Hunter Card.
Scattered is not a punishment. It costs no XP. It reveals nothing to other hunters. It's a mirror. You were absent, and the System shows you that fact until you're back.
It clears the moment you complete your first quest of the new day.
8. The Social Layer
Other hunters exist. The System lets you cross paths.
Public Profile. Every hunter has a read-only profile at /h/<id> — rank, level, active dungeons, dimensions, trophies. Other signed-in hunters with your link can view it (not exposed to the open internet). Find your share link on your /profile page.
Friends. Visit another hunter's profile and tap + Add Friend. They'll get a notification, accept, and you both appear on each other's friends list. Friendship is the foundation — group hunts and leaderboards build on top of it later.
Journal Entries. When you relapse, log a coffee, complete a run, or just want to write — a small note modal lets you save a reflection. Default is private (only you see it on your profile). Tick Share to public profile to surface that one entry on your public profile under Reflections.
9. Reach & Reliability
Daily Reminders. On by default. The first time you sign in, your browser asks once for notification permission — say yes and you're enrolled. The System sends a morning push if your day went unused yesterday and an evening push if today is slipping away. The message is state-aware — relapsed yesterday gets a comeback nudge, fell behind gets a pattern-break, on track gets a keep-going reset.
To turn reminders off, either toggle them off on your profile or block notifications for the app at the OS level (iOS Settings → Notifications, Android app info, browser site settings on desktop).
Install the App. Pushes only work if the app is installed. The flow is different on every platform:
- ▸iPhone / iPad: open the site in Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen. Requires iOS 16.4+. Pushes won't fire from a regular Safari tab.
- ▸Android: open in Chrome → tap the install banner that appears, or use Chrome's ⋮ menu → Install app. Pushes work either way once installed.
- ▸Desktop (Chrome, Edge, Brave): look for the install icon in the address bar, or use the browser menu → Install Shivaliva Leveling. The app then opens in its own window.
Offline. The app works without a connection. On a plane, in the subway, in bad-signal zones — complete quests, log relapses, write journal entries. Everything queues locally and drains to the server the moment you reconnect. An amber banner shows when you're offline and how many actions are waiting to sync.
10. Currently Free
Every feature is currently free — every dungeon, every achievement, daily quests, dimensions, the heatmap, friends, journal, push, unlimited active runs.
If paid tiers ever exist, core self-hunting stays free. Competition with yourself shouldn't have a paywall. Early hunters get remembered.
The quest remains open.
